About the Lunenburg Regional Fire & Emergency Services
The Lunenburg Regional Fire & Emergency Services (LRFES) was started over 12 years ago to help increase the level of training for fire service volunteers through cooperation and increasing awareness of the training available. With the financial help of the Municipality, LFRES provides many opportunities for all firefighters to get the training they need, right in the local area.
When you volunteer to help your neighbor and the community your time is very important. Therefore LRFES organizes many local courses to our member departments such as:

Annual training sessions one or two days covering basic skills |
Joint practices between departments to simulate "Mutual Aid" scenarios |
"Firefighter Level 1" offered locally in the area |
Special courses, like Officer's training, Safety Officer's training, etc... |
And so much more... |
Through the efforts of the LRFES, over the past two years Lunenburg County has had more volunteers attend courses through the Nova Scotia Firefighters School than any other area of the Province! As a result of these and other training efforts, the LRFES has a very well trained membership willing to offer their assistance to their community at any time... on call 24/7/365!
